There are TEC ministries all around the nation. TEC (which stands for Teens Encounter Christ) actual originated in the Catholic denomination. Then a few years ago, individuals from non-catholic congregations began to create TECs in there own areas, placing the focus on the inter-denominational cores of the Christian faith. This was to allow the spread of the gospel over denominational and traditional religious barriers. Madison Area TEC is the first TEC in the madison area, but is not the only one in the area. There is Badger TEC in Millwaukee, Siouxland TEC in Sioux City IA, and countless others in the Twin Cities and greater MN region. Nonetheless each TEC is unique to its area because there is no overarching organization unifying them all- they are all created, facilitated, and implemented by churches in each area.
